The Hummer that consumes 2.5 liters per 100 km, Chevy Volt

The Chevy Volt think healthy (organic).

Americans have found a solution to not give the Hummer because of high fuel consumption. Thus in the enclosed pictures you can see the Hummer H3, which consumes approximately 2.5 liters per cent kilometers.

The car is still in prototype stage, propulsion being developed by Raser Technologies Hummer in partnership with General Motors.

How can a car so large to consume so little?

The machine uses an electric motor whose batteries are charged by an internal combustion engine, propulsion is similar to that of the Chevrolet volt.

Internal combustion engine is used exclusively to load batteries and the propulsion of the vehicle.

The electric propulsion develop approximately 200 kW and are transmitted as the front wheels and the rear.
Bin speed manual is in 4 steps.

By charging the batteries outlet ensure autonomy of 40 miles that is 64 km, after the batteries are download engine ii load again providing an autonomy of 400 miles that is 643 km.

Under the hood is a GM Turbo engine with four cylinders, similar to that used in the Pontiac Solstice GXP.
The engine runs a generator that loads three sets of lithium-ion batteries "super-polymer (provided by Electrovaya Canada).
Two of them are mounted on the side of the car and the third is in the back. Batteries store 41 kWh.
The car is in the prototype stage, the company Chevy Volt have already 12000 of commands.
From 2011 the car will be produced in series
