THE PLANET WILL WARM BY 4 DEGREES OVER THE NEXT 50 YEARS

British scientists say that Earth's average temperature will rise by 4 degrees Celsius by 2060.

The study, conducted by the Met Office, the use of fossil fuels predictions that reflect the trend of the past 20 years, but new models that take into account the absorption of carbon dioxide by oceans and forests.

Results were presented at a conference at Oxford University: the best case, the temperature will rise 4 degrees by 2070, with a possibility this would happen by 2060.

Richard Betts of the Met Office Hadley Center said he was shocked by such heating will take place in a lifetime.

"If emissions of greenhouse gases are not reduced now, we will see huge changes in climate during our lives," said Betts.

"Four degrees average warming means that in some parts of the world will be much warmer than that, and rainfall will change also," said researcher.
