Citarum river most polluted in the world


Citarum river waters, which is near Djakarta, capital of Indonesia, are the most polluted in the world.
Over 500 factories discharge their waste into the river, largely consist of chemicals used to treat textile materials they produce.

Not only do they waste the most polluted Citarum river in the world, but droppings, plastic bottles, rubber gloves, the remains of mobile or carcasses. Local residents have no sanitary facilities and drinking water.
Domestic waste is dumped directly into the river and the water is then used for cooking or washing. Locals do not fish, because this occupation is not profitable, however insignificant amounts recovered for all floating on the river waters.
Citarum is a real outbreak of infection, not infrequently its waters, where play or bathing, carrying with them viruses that can trigger epidemics ever. Ecological disaster of the childrenCitarum began in the '80s, with the rapid industrialization of the area, but none ever polluters not to protect or green waters of this river.
